I love the honesty in this piece, and the self-awareness. The idea of several life purposes really make sense; one can weigh far too heavy. I feel lighter for reading this, thank you 🙏
Oh I'm so happy you feel lighter! 🙏 Too much of a burden thinking there's only one life purpose and that it's purposely hidden from us from a (cruel?) deity or Universe...
Whenever I’ve been in the position of counting the cost, having followed call of the counterintuitive, it has always become clear upon reflection that there wasn’t actually a choice, not really. The needs of the soul far, far outweigh those of the upside down sun. That doesn’t mean we don’t suffer for it, we do, but that suffering has a light within it that refusing the call does not. We are here to do what we are here to do.
I just wish we weren't plunged through the river Lethes upon incarnating, making our remembering of the soul's curriculum so freakin' challenging! 😵💫 Your observation about suffering reminds me of the verse "And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” (NKJV). Light can get in if we're "just" broken, but when we get ground to powder... 😫
My take on the 8 of Pentacles is working hard at the craft we love. However, we need to be balanced between work and play. That was my goal in 24 and will be again in 25. It helps that my cats demand I stop working 😼
I'v never connected love with the 8 of Pentacles; interesting! What card would you associate with work one despises? 🤔 (We have 5 cats; those rascally suckers are healers and angels in disguise! 🤭)
Purrs for 4 cats! 😻The card that popped into my mind is the 5 of Swords. But it always depends on the other cards. For instance, if the 3 of Swords were next to the 8 of Pentacles there would be a different meaning. I learned tarot intuitively by mediating on a card on my forehead and sleeping with them. So, I don’t use the traditional meanings with the cards. A woman taught me to read them as a story, which made learning Lenormand easier. I rarely use traditional spreads. Some tarot teachers would be horrified with the way I read tarot. 😼
Oh how synchronous that you're going through the same thing! WOW. I'm finding that I only leave contentment when I consider going after the carrot that society, my ego or logic dangles before me. I'm so grateful I didn't jump into anything (or derail this lovely Christmas season!). I really appreciate your kind words and for taking the time to comment (and letting me know I'm not speaking into a void. Teehee!) 💗

Well that's an interesting way to learn Tarot! 😉 Storytelling is the best way to learn to read cards, IMO. 😀
